Olfactory Memoir is a book of smell memories of three cities I’ve lived in—Manila, New York, and Barcelona—where each spread of the book contains the written smell memory (of objects, places, and people) and the actual smell printed on the right. The smells are specially made through microencapsulation and printing. It tangibilizes the invisible—smell—through the narrative afforded by the form of a book, and also becomes a conversation piece when smelled by other people whose memories of the same smell are different from mine.
